National Weather Service Records Show it has Never Snowed in Naples
Just in case you are a little sick of the bitter cold and snow right now, here is some food for thought: National Weather Service records (dating back to 1902) say it has never snowed in Naples, Florida!
When asked if he thinks it will ever snow in Naples, Dan Noah, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service stated, “I doubt it. When you have cold air blowing across the relatively warm Gulf of Mexico waters, it tends to keep the air over Florida above freezing. It would be tough to get snowfall along the coast, even in Tampa.”
Snow is not always a bad thing.
Personally, I love a beautiful snowy day – especially one spent in the mountains navigating the fluffy powder on skis. That’s why a weeklong ski vacation in Vermont or out West is something we try to do every year. But, at least for us, one week is enough and we choose to spend most of our time living here in Naples, where the climate lends itself to daily, healthy outdoor activities.
Things can be different. You have choices.
Humans tend to be creatures of habit and, oftentimes, change is difficult for many of us. But for most people, there are other options that could make one’s life happier, healthier, and more fulfilling. It just requires some action and commitment make changes. We are reminded of this every year when January 1 rolls around and we take stock of our lives and make resolutions for the new year.
